Synopsis

People who know and work with Pete Nelson describe him as a tree whisperer. For his part, Nelson lets the trees do the talking. He's a world-renowned treehouse designer and builder, and this series documents the work he and his team of craftsmen—including his son Charlie—do to create incredible homes and businesses in nature's canopy. Pete uses a combination of science and art to realize clients' sky-high aspirations of magnificent multi-bedroom treehouses with elaborate kitchens and bathrooms, or simpler, peaceful one-room escapes. Other backyard escapes featured in the series include a spa retreat, a brewery, and a honeymoon suite. "We awaken that inner child who dreams of living among the trees," Pete says.

Reviews

Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Grimossfer Clever and entertaining enough to recommend even to members of the 1%
Sammy-Jo Cervantes There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
ljazztrm Really great show. The tree houses are pretty amazing. Pete seems like a great guy with a great energy about him. Some other reviewers have commented on his corny sense of humor and terrible jokes but, because he's such a nice guy, he can get away with it and it makes it charming. Not a lot of people can pull that off! I think it's just an overall 'feel good' show that leaves me with a good feeling.
james-938-676921 The show jumped the shark once the owner started being a tool instead of just a contractor. His acting is terrible and his jokes are just plain awful. Once he started acting like a star the quality dropped. The show looks more like a scripted show than natural. The few earlier episodes were good. Don't waste your time watching unless you want to watch the owner make a fool out of himself. Since I am required to have ten lines of text before my review is posted, I will say again that the owner acts like a tool in the later episodes. Also, you will notice his uncreative rectangle logo is now on everything that everyone wears. How lame. I bet he designed his own logo and thinks it's the best. Again, don't watch the show.
Collin Bennett The tree houses that Pete and his team builds are truly amazing and are completely unique depending on the client. You can tell that Pete is very excited about what he does and he is really entertaining and up-beat. The back story of the show is what makes it great. It makes the show much more relatable. I like how they mention the budget of each of the builds. Most of these tree houses are over 100k. I like watching because it really shows how passionate someone can be about something as simple as tree houses and turn that obsession into something awe-inspiring, Also, I am not sure why anyone would say these tree houses lack craftsmanship, they are nothing short of masterpieces.
akrt996 I agree with the last reviewer about this being scripted and boring however, this seems to be the case for all of the pseudo reality shows produced now. Lazy, uninspired and cheap production defines TV currently. This show falls right in line with the Honey Boo-boo mindless dribble of today.Where I differ is the quality of the tree houses built. The nit-wit in this show basically throws a garden shed in a tree and calls it a tree-house. Wholly uninspired and classless builds. Anyone that pays this guy to build them a tree-house just got taken for a ride. The only saving grace to this train wreck is when the host "visits" tree-houses built by others and are in need of some "repair". Some of those tree-houses are awe inspiring compared to the big box store shed he tosses into trees.
