Softwing
Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

I have really gotten into British mystery.. Unforgotten is superior in every way. I strongly recommend it.

I was initially going for seven stars because like most crime series of this type we are again presented w/around four to six possible baddies/perpetuators to the crime however they did add a twist that began to show itself about two thirds of the way through and was thoughtfully presented and concluded. Acting and background forensics all intelligently & realistically thought out. Another possible negative was an over reliance on making everyone a flawed character (or within a flawed environment).

This review applies to season 1 only. The mystery is well set up, and the characters are sufficiently well-written to give scope to a stellar cast. However, triteness creeps in with the working out of the relationships, and to my mind the "solution" is a rabbit pulled out of a hat. It can't bear the weight of expectation established at the start. As I move on to season 2, I'm hoping that stronger writing will prevent the concept from degenerating into soap opera.

Just finished watching the first story of season one. I really like the concept and the acting is superb but the characters are a bit too one-sided and there is a lot of stereotyping (Blacks are uneducated, Turks are thugs), with most baby boomers portrayed as immoral,, whereas the now-genaration are geneerally good; they have a better grip on morality and are the ones "fixing"the world.. Come on writers, get real! You need to write in some older characters and more minorities who also have some sense of morality and are not just bad or door-mats. Sorry, but the young-white-European carrying the moral compass of the world is not very realistic any more; this from a relatively young, European female...Two points off for all that...
